Air Conditioners Sydney

The cooling of air is one of the most important elements in buildings, homes, etc. This is only natural because we want to be comfortable while inside an environment that’s warm outside when it’s cold outside! Unfortunately, this one fact has led to many rumors regarding what exactly A/C units can do for us. It’s time to separate fact from fiction because we aren't going anywhere. anytime soon!

So, we’re here to set the record straight. Here’s the truth behind some of the most prevalent air conditioning myths.

Myths:

1. The Bigger the AC Unit, The Better –

True, bigger is better when it comes to weight lifting. However, in terms of an air conditioner, bigger isn’t always better. In fact, bigger units can cycle on and off more often resulting in greater wear and tear, more noise, and more humidity. Also, larger units typically have less precise temperature control – which means it may take multiple cycles for the proper temperature.

2. Air Conditioning Is Always Needed –

While air conditioning is always needed in the summer, it isn’t as needed during spring or fall. In these seasons, and in climates that experience mild or warm weather, or when only specific rooms need cooling, room air conditioners are a good choice. These units can provide targeted cooling to specific spaces – like your bedroom or home office – while leaving the rest of the house unaffected.

3. A Bigger Air Conditioner Will Cool a Bigger Room Faster -

Not true! A larger unit will run longer, therefore cooling the room slower.

4. Turning Down the Temperature on an A/C System Can Save Energy -

Turning the temperature down on your A/C system will not help reduce energy consumption. In fact, it’s more effective to simply turn off the system when it’s not needed.

5. You Should Never Turn Off An A/C System –

On the contrary. In fact, many of us forget to turn our system back on after the cool weather goes away.

6. Turning on an A/C System When the Weather Is Still Warm Will Only Cool the Humidity -

Even though it’s cold outside, when moisture enters the air, air conditioning is required to remove the moisture.

7. Air Conditioning Installation Will Damage Your Skin -

Air conditioners remove moisture from the air. This actually makes the air less humid – not the dry air. Since dry heat is the culprit when it comes to dry skin, air conditioning can actually help improve your skin.

8. You Can Cool Your House by Opening the Windows -

Yes, opening the windows and doors may increase the flow of cold outdoor air through your house, but the temperature difference will be minimal.

9. Air Conditioning Removes All Moisture -

Air conditioning does remove moisture from the air, but excess humidity can go right through a closed window.
